Snowboard fitting is done with the chin to the floor in inches, most of the pros measure at the chest, they are tricksters though, and with the shorter board it makes that easier. Shorter is better for beginners, this is because it makes it easier to turn ect.
You also need to know if you’re goofy or regular. A goofy footed snowboarder is one who snowboards with their right foot forward, a regular is one who snowboards with their left foot forward. If you don’t know which you are, then stand behind the snowboarder,(preferably without them knowing and with their feet together) and gently push forward. The foot that goes out first is the one that is the lead foot, or the one that goes in the front. More |

WAXING YOUR SKIS The bottoms of your skis do not have to be waxed! The bottoms are a closed, celled product made by one man and are very low maintenance! Your bottoms are better off not waxed! Once they have been waxed with a temperature restricted wax, you have to keep going back for temperature changing wax jobs.. Stick with the original base and the factory seal thats on the petex.. once ground it isn’t the same.. and is not maintenance free! if you ski across the parking lot.. you deserve to pay for a tune up...!!! The old skis 30 years ago had an open celled base and needed wax, NEWER SKIS have closed cell and never NEED WAX, PERIOD! if you want to race someone who has paid up to $90 for a tune up... spray your bottoms with pam or silicone spray.. if you stay on top you will out run them...!!!! spend more time skiing than tuneupen..enjoy the bottoms of your skis!

SKI LENGTH Fitting for ski length always differs depending on strength, frequency, age, height, weight, We generally go with something about mid-face for most skiers... However, there are variations to that according to what, where and how , you want to ski. agressive, or larger person, usually go about head height. regualar folks have been fitting the shaped skis mid face.. a light weight, scared kid , or a mom who doesn’t like to ski but wants to be there to watch the fun the family is having.. fits about chin hi or a little lower..
the blades (3 ft ), or shorties (4ft) have been popular as well... easy to ski and fun... less work..less tired at end of day... let’s ski and have funnn! More |

BOOTS BOOTS ARE DESIGNED TO HOLD YOUR HEEL DOWN WHILE PUMPING THE KNEES WHEN SKIING... ALWAYS BUCKLE YOUR BOOTS FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP..
DON’T HAVE TO TIGHTEN, JUST LATCHED... THEN PUMP YOUR KNEES FOWARD AND BACK... THEN TIGHTEN THE SECOND FROM THE BOTTOM BUCKLE ONLY ONE CLICK TIGHTER.. THEN TIGHEN THE 3RD BUCKLE FROM THE BOTTOM 2 CLICKS.. THAT SHOULD HOLD THE HEEL DOWN.. NOW PUMP AGAIN FORWARD AND BACK... THAT SHOULD KEEP THE HEEL FROM SLIPPING UP THE BACK... THE IDEAL IS TO BUCKLE AS LOOSE AS YOU CAN AND HAVE THE HEEL FROM SLIPPING.. YOU CAN PULL STRAIGHT OUT OF A BOOT THAT FITS.. THAT DOES NOT COUNT... MOST PEOPLE OVER TIGHTEN SKI BOOTS... TURN YOUR BOOTS UPSIDE DOWN OVER THE FORCED AIR HEATER VENT.. LEAVE THEM THERE ALL NIGHT.. NEXT MORNING.. TIGHTEN THE SKI BOOT TIGHT FOR THIS ONE TIME ONLY... WEAR THE BOOT WALKING IN IT WITH THE KNEES BENT FORWARD AROUND THE HOUSE FOR 30-40 MIN... THIS WILL NOT WORK SITTING IN FRONT OF T.V.,GAMEBOY, COMPUTER... DO THE KNEE WALK THING... THEN WHEN YOU
GO SKIING BUCKLE AS THE TOP.. PUT ON THE THIN NON ABSORBIC SOCK ON THE SKIN AND COTTON OR WOOL BLEND SOCK OVER THAT SOCK.. ALWAYS DO THE 2 SOCK DEAL..IT WILL WICK THE MOISTURE AWAY ... LEAVE THE FOOT DRY..ANY SLIPPAGE WILL BE ON THE SOCKS... THIS IS PHASE ONE.. WE HAVE 3 MORE PHASES FOR THE MORE DIFFICULT BOOT FITTING PROBLEMS..
BOOTS ARE COMFY IF DONE RIGHT...
A BOOT THAT FITS USUALLY WILL FEEL TOO LITTLE WHEN YOU FIRST TRY THEM ON... WHEN YOU ARE BUCKLED IN THE FOOT IS PULLED BACK INTO THE HEEL LOCK... BUCKLED UP PUMPING THE KNEE FORWARD AND BACK.. THE TO CAN TOUCH OR NOT TOUCH THE VERY FRONT.. IF THE TOE SLAMS THE FRONT IN A BUCKLED BOOT OR SIDES ARE COMING IN... TOO TIGHT.. HEEL SLIPS IN THE BACK BUCKLED.. TOO BIG..

HOW TO ADUST YOUR OWN BINDINGS... Adjust your own bindings and fit yourself, and your family and friends..this How To Fit page can give you the info to ski safe..first thing to do is mark your skis right and left... we usually put a sticker on one ski and not the other.. or just take a permanent pen and write an r on one ski... stick with this do not change sides again... you have one leg stronger than the other.. and bindings need to be adjusted individually.. repeat aloud the rymy "righty tighty .. lefty loosy".. always say that outloud before you turn the bindings tighter or looser... right is tighten...left is to loosen... clockwise to tighten.. counter clockwise to loosen... 1/2 a turn in the front... 1 full turn in the rear ... that is a 180 or half moon.. in the front.... 360 degrees in the back or one full turn only... never adjust them tighter or looser than this at any one time... the body get gradually stronger .... skiing down the mountain .. you turn a corner really hard and a toe pops off.. that is too loose... turn it to the right one/half turn only... do not tighten the heel at that time just the toe that popped off... skiing thru the bumps.. the heel pops off .too easy... usually at the bottom of the slopes they have a table with a screwdriver but no one will tell you how much.. there is one of the ski secrets... 1 turn in front or 1 full turn in the rear...which ever popped off ..only the one that popped off.. when adjusting tighter..treat each toe and heel completely seperate and independantly.. each person has different strengths and torques differently... however if you fall and the bindings should have come off and did not that is too tight.. then loosen both toe and heel... 1/2 in front ...full turn in the heel...
younger kids usually will need lots more adjusting than olde folks.. thier muscles tighten more than older folks...
enjoy a safe skiing experience
thanks to your for your business
